Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta is bilingual since age nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then it was announced that the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. Her move from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas in which she was an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. The duties of anchoring on sports and weather was regularly asked for. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasthe affiliate of Univision Dallas, and she takes on more responsibility. She did pieces on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor herself. She was promoted as anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same job was held for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved into Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. There is an older sister. The family settled in Miami after moving out of Mexico into the US. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. The couple stayed at Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime, where she had been given the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she was very aware of her career goals. She visited Mount Union University in order to see if it was a good fit for her. Then she was enthralled with the university. And they offered her the opportunity to study a major. After finishing high school, she decided to attend the University to pursue a degree with Media Studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was part of her class, formed an ongoing friendship with her. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his love of journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
